Getting Started

Welcome to the National Charter Schools Institute's Web site. This is the Getting Started page, which lays out the basic design of the site and provides a guide to its basic use. This site was created to be a singular site of information, services and training opportunities for charter school professionals. The basic layout and design of the site reflect that mission.

The homepage of the site presents a brief description of what users will find here and offers a list of News items. You can click on each news item to view more detailed information about it.

From the Homepage, the site is divided into four main areas:

Services
This section of the site provides an overview and description of the services offered by NCSI and allows you to request that more information be sent to you.

Training Events
The Training Events section of the site allows you to view all of the training events being offered by NCSI and to register online if you wish to attend. You can find an event either by Topic Area, by using a keyword search, or viewing the entire list of events.

Resources
A diverse array of electronic and downloadable information targeted to charter school practitioners is presented in our Learning Resources section. Resources can be found by Topic Area or by keyword.

About Us
The About Us section of the site provides an introduction to the mission, history, and professionals of NCSI.

In addition to the major sections, several helpful features are easily available from any page on the site:

The Search function appears on every page of the site and allows you to search the entire site for the terms you enter.

Getting Started
This page introduces the basic functions of the site and provides tips on effective usage.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions and answers about the National Charter Schools Institute and other charter school topics.

Site Map
The Site Map provides a single page that provides you with links to all the major portions of the site. It is a good way to see what information is available, and provides quick access to any portion of the site.

Contact Us
The Contact Us section allows you to request more information from NCSI, or provide feedback and recommendations. You can either choose from a list of pre-defined topics, or you can ask a more specific question of your own. You can elect to receive information by email, fax, or US mail.
